I wonder if there are common problems and if there are more cases of difference of half ply.

That's really cool.  How did you notice that and more curiously, when you remembered the similarity, how did you track down the problem numbers at each site?!

(picturing Uri clicking through CT Problems 1 through 55,000 in numerical order.  "No, not that one..."  click   "No, not that one..."   click   "No, not that one...")

It seems that many interesting positions can generate more than one problem:  Not only the correct move for white, but also black's refutation of a wrong move.  Now of course, if only the system were to ra---

mmmff---   glarf----   ---position!--  fmfmfmmmf!  whew   eh?

Someone stuffed a sock in my mouth!  What was that all about?  Now what was I saying.  I forget.  Oh well.  More tactics!

I simply solved the problem in CTS and I remembered that I also discussed a similiar problem in the subject of problems that are too short.

That is an interesting find Uri,  I'd expect there are probably a few positions where exactly the same problem exists as both CTS and here have used real games as input and while our generator approaches are different they are probably similar enough so that occasionally the same position will pop up.

Now we comprehend Richard's aversion to water (and little dogs).

Do you think these slippers go well with my calico dress and handbasket?

I don't have the WWW in the address line, that might be the reason why I lost you with the calico dress.

Dorothy:  Hey, how many solipsists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Wicked Witch of the West:  One, of course.  Everybody knows that.  What *I* want to know is, how did we get so far off-topic in only nine posts?!
