Why is 2.Kc1 better then 2. Kc3? think they are equal.

I thought they were equal also on first glance, however Kc3 takes one move longer for mate. After Kc3 the King ends up taking the rook on d3 which is followed by black's e4+ thus requiring white to play one more evasive move. Anyway , probably not a great problem in any case.
