I was going to let this one go but it was still bugging me this morning after sleeping on it.  In response to 1. g4, why would black move Qb1 handing white the the queen in exchange for a rook in the next move?  What's wrong with Qc2?  It gets the queen out of trouble, protects the rook for a rook-rook exchange.  I've got to be missing something pretty big here for black to willingly go into a Queen-bishop vs. rook-knight endgame, right?

I got the problem wrong because I ignored my pawns, but even had I seen this move I am quite positive that I would have dismissed it as a weak move and a loss of momentum.

after Qc2 white replies Qe6+, forking the king and the Rook. The black knight is pinned by the white rook.

ahh, I should have been able to see that    Angry

This is another area I need to work on, seeing my opponents (I sort of switched sides from the problem) moves/tactics better.

Thanks for the help Boromir!
