hey, guys .. as Drake said we both got a direct hit by hurricane Ike .. my chess brain, such that it was, seems to have suffered from the re-boot after 10 days without electricity and 20 days without internet connection or even telephone .. we are still without cable tv connection and some very basic stuff both chess and life related feels almost alien
here we still have much to do related to repair after the hurricane, but being safely home with an intact but damaged roof is a blessing despite the mess .. i look forward to devoting some serious time to chess problems and play soon, but it still feels as if it may be weeks away before all the distractions from Ike can be completely put behind .. over 12 hours of hurricane force winds with over an hour in the eye of the storm as it passed over is not for sissies or recommended, but it comes with the territory when one lives on the upper Texas gulf coast .. y'all take care and keep the lights on

Hey Texian,
Good to hear from you (was starting to wonder where you had got to). Glad you got through the hurricane in one piece, hopefully you have the basics sorted out soon and we see you around here again ASAP.
Regards,
Richard.

Texian, great to hear back from you, I was afraid we lost you! In the same week both you and Drahacik disappeared, but then we learned that Drahacik was traveling with his son, and now we hear back from you!
Welcome back home! :-)

hijacked!! heh just kidding
Texian hurry up and get your local stuff done, so we can play some chess to bring you back up to par... I showed you my first game and how bad I felt the game was. After my big dip in rating here, I am finally climbing back up to where I was before the storm. Surprise how such a life altering events like that small storm effects our ability in chess.... We gotta learn to play with a clear mind.
If I ever figure out fritz 11, I'll make some puzzles for ya for your openings. Cause I really need to do that for me.
Glad you made it back though, if you need something you know how to get a hold of me.
