Hi all!

I just discovered this site, and I immediately fell in love with it. Tried a couple of days as free member, then moved to Silver Membership, if for nothing else to acknowledge Richard’s effort in putting this together – great job indeed, hope he will keep up the good work!

I have a question: I would like, after some of the problems (failed or completed) to paste the PGN of the original position into Fritz, so to obtain two results: 1) better understand the line(s) and 2) play some endings, trying to “win a won game” (I am a master in losing won games!)

By doing this, do I risk to be detected by the system as a “cheater”, because of switching of applications? I guess as long as the switch happens after a problem is completed, there should be no issues, but I’d love a confirmation that there is no problem with this!

Thanks in advance for any reply!

Andrea,

There's nothing wrong with pasting the PGN into Fritz after you finish the problem.  That's the purpose of the PGN display for silver members, so you can study the problem more with your chess engine.

Yes, this is the best tactics site on the internet!  Welcome.

I do this all the time.  Particularly after I have seen the solution and there is some line that I was pondering and I don't understand why it was incorrect.

You can usually tell when I have done this since you can almost immediately hear my hand smacking my forehead.

Lol - this is definitely me! Most problems I've failed looks easy, once I know the solution... Not to talk about the ones with just hanging pieces, got fooled twice!
