I finally cracked 1600 - however very briefly as my excitement caused me many blunders. (Maybe also was bombay blue)

Anyhow thank you so much!!!! I also just won a tournament game against a stronger opponent!

Many thanks to chess tempo as I feel this has improved my tactics!

An Update:

I Broke 1700 on this site!

I feel that all of my studies have improved my game dramatically, I have now beat two players who were rated over 1700 USCF...(although I have lost to several also).....But If I can just get more consistency I know I am going to improve.

Thanks Richard, this site is a big part of my tactics training!

I made it to within 3 points of 2000, then missed a few questions so now im like 30 points away again. Darn, so close. I had a bunch of tests/work at school so my rating suffered...

Great job, guys.

I made my own benchmark last  night, passing 2000 in standard after weeks of effort. lol.  My ability is really  improving by  using this site.  I'm going to keep plugging on standard for  now, maybe try for 2100.

I fined to solve tactics is easer then to solve them during a real game. I need to have the words (LOOK FOR TACTICS) playing in my head wile i play or else ill miss the most simple things. Im over exadurating but i still feel like finding a tactic during a game to be slightly more difficult. And im not talking about 1300 fork problems i mean like 1700+ problems on standard.

I fined to solve tactics is easer then to solve them during a real game.

We all face this.  There is no flashing light during a tournament game that says: ATTENTION, A TACTICAL OPPORTUNITY HAS NOW BECOME AVAILABLE.  But if we have an organized thinking process, we will see more of them.

And most important of all, even though at times it is painful, you MUST do a post-game review of EVERY game you play.  If you use a strong computer engine it will show you missed tactical opportunities and you must study these carefully.

In a recent game, for instance, I saw and executed a complex tactic, and then later on Fritz showed me I had overlooked a much simpler and more effective one!  That was a good lesson but that pattern is forever in my memory and I will certainly see it in the future.
