I fined to solve tactics is easer then to solve them during a real game.
We all face this. There is no flashing light during a tournament game that says: ATTENTION, A TACTICAL OPPORTUNITY HAS NOW BECOME AVAILABLE. But if we have an organized thinking process, we will see more of them.
And most important of all, even though at times it is painful, you MUST do a post-game review of EVERY game you play. If you use a strong computer engine it will show you missed tactical opportunities and you must study these carefully.
In a recent game, for instance, I saw and executed a complex tactic, and then later on Fritz showed me I had overlooked a much simpler and more effective one! That was a good lesson but that pattern is forever in my memory and I will certainly see it in the future.
