Real Chess improvement

How fast can I expect to see improvement in real chess games by practicing a few puzzles each day.
what improvements have other peole experienced since they first started using this great site?

thanks for you response drahacikfm, your son seems like a genius! i wish i had started to play at a younger age as you tend to learn things so much quicker when your younger.
I started when i was 23 so it would be near impossible for me to break into the top 20% of chess players.

Thats not true at all, i started when i was 17 and now im 19. And i managed to achieve a rating of over 2000 Fide and a chess tempo rating of over 2400.

Well, there's a big difference between starting chess at 17 and at 23. But even starting at 23, it's very possible to get into the top 20% of chess players.
It depends on what kingdutto means by "chess players". If he means anybody who knows how all the pieces move and how to castle, etc., then the top 20% would be anyone rated over 1400 FIDE, a pretty easy goal. But if he means people who play several tournaments per year, then the top 20% would be a rating about 2000 FIDE, a harder goal.
