Yes you really are a Genius at hard work! Im going to buy the new Gold Member ship as soon as i can for 1 real reason, because you help and inspired me to play chess. I am positive that many people have bin touched by your site in strong ways.

This really is a fantastic site i wouldn't be surprised if it becomes huge in the chess world, i can easily see this site growing to the level of greatness were people from all over the world know of it like they know of ICC.

1 more thing, i feel like payed members should have access to even more problems then average users.

Thanks Tama,

There is an issue giving more problems to premium members.  It would take a very long time for the new problems to get accurate ratings if only the premium users were doing them (especially at the moment :-)  ).  I could move some problems out of the basic tactics into premium tactics but I'd rather encourage users to sign up by adding more premium features rather than taking things away from standard users.

Regards,
Richard.

thanks  to  Richard i can actually see the board!  On another tactics site, i had  plenty of trouble  because the board was so small, but now i can easily adjust the size of pieces  and board.  I have lousy  eyesight and after squinting at those  tiny board, i get  serious  headaches.  Now if  richard  can only figure out  a way to make  those little buttons below the board bigger, i'll be in heaven.

Buddywinston:

:-) I'm glad you like the board size preferences, I'll also have different board square color/styles in the not too distant future.

Larger buttons are on the list but still quite a few other things above it on the moment. It may help to know that you can use the arrow keys to move backwards and forwards through the moves, I find this a lot more convenient than pressing the tiny buttons :-)

Regards,
Richard.

hi richard,

I have minor issue about the "NEXT PROBLEM" button.  It's pressable even if the problem is unfinished. I'm sometimes caught due to carelessness thinking that the problem is done. Sometimes, slow Bandwidth made me press that button repeatedly accidentally skipped a problem.  I wish it can't be pressed while problem is not yet done.

Ofcourse it's just minor and harms only the careless ones  like me Smiley

Hi boybawang,

The next problem button actually behaves like that by design, it means if someone wants to give up they don't have to explicitly fail the problem before moving onto the next one. I could possibly remove it a little from the other buttons to prevent accidental clicks.  I made some changes a few weeks ago that should prevent double clicks on the next problem button which fixes a problem where the user would get two problems very quickly , failing the first problem when the second click was interpreted. The next problem button is now disabled after the first click and not re-enabled until the problem has finished loading.

Regards,
Richard.

it means if someone wants to give up they don't have to explicitly fail the problem before moving onto the next one.

What about adding another button "I GIVE UP" placed on another location? That should prevent premature pressing of the "NEXT PROBLEM" button because it's disabled while the problem is ongoing.

But it's just a minor problem anyway. You better focus on more important things Smiley

Thx, richard, for  suggestion about arrow keys instead of little buttons underneath board. Goodidea.
