Solution 1 and 2 sound reasonable. I don't like 3 as often the alternative appears early in a longer sequence of moves and and that point the tactical point hasn't been met so giving credit is probably overly generous.  I think some people will not like 2 as they enjoy looking for the alternatives themselves. Solution 1 is probably the most attractive (for me), I'd be interested to hear other opinions...Of course blitz ratings are already higher than standard ratings so one argument is that I shouldn't be making things any easier than they already are :-)

Just don't give the full credit.  just give enough depending on which point the problem was terminated.

The main idea here is that positions with non-intuitive computerish replies are avoided early.

boybawang: I still think I prefer option 1 as it gives the user a chance to explore more of the problem (without getting punished).
