I often get the scores updating so that I lose 10 points. This happens both when I get the problem correct and incorrect.

Hi Orange,
Can you please give more details. It is normal in blitz to lose points sometimes when you get problems right. If you take too long to give the answer then even a correct answer can lose points. Is this what you are seeing or some other problem?
Thanks, Richard.

Hi richard,
Here is a recent one in which I lost 30 points. It seems to happen once every 50 problems and can occur either when I get a problem right or wrong.

Hi orange,
This type of behaviour occurs when the anti cheating code is triggered. I think there was probably a problem (or more than one problem) between the 21:54:15 and 21:57:28 problem attempts. When the anti-cheating code gets triggered it automatically marks your problem as wrong and doesn't record it in the problem history. I'm sure you are not cheating , so its probably the anti-cheating code misbehaving in some way. This happens very rarely but for users that do experience the problem, it seems they see the problem relatively often (hence the 1 in 50). Given that the vast majority of users never see the problem its likely something particular about your environment that is triggering the issue (which is not to say that the problem is your fault, just that the bug only triggers itself in your environment). In order to help me try and narrow the problem down further (its been hard for me to track it ,as I can never reproduce the problem in my setup), can you please let me know which operating system version and browser version you are using.
Thanks, Richard.

Thanks,
I had a look at the logs and there was indeed 2 problems flagged as unusual at the time that account for the "missing" 30 points.
I also had a check over the last 10 days and this has only happened on two occaisons under your account during that period (including the example you show below). Both times there was two problems fairly close together that showed this behaviour. Do you think it is possible you might have used the browser's "back" or reload buttons at the time?
Regards, Richard.

I am sure that i don't use the back button/reload button as I have learned that that scores you as having gotten the problem wrong. I do task switch sometimes.

Thanks for the extra details. I doubt task switching would trigger the problem. I'll keep my eye open to see if I can see any pattern emerging as to when this issue arises. At the moment it appears that either the browser or a proxy is sending the "problem complete" information multiple times. If I can't track the problem down, I'll change the behaviour so that rather than getting punished in this situation you'll simply not receive the points for the position, which at leasts mitigates the most annoying aspect of this bug.
Regards, Richard.
