What's the elo rating for Fritz 8?

Just curious, what is the ELO rating for Fritz 8. I'm asking because I still have an old copy of Fritz on my machine and in games with the new engines of today like Rybka, it will always lose. It can't even draw, not even once. It's not the Deep version, just the normal one core version. I don't have more recent Fritz versions, jut the 8 version.

I believe the Deep Fritz 8 has a Elo of 2800+ but for the single core version I have no idea. My machine is a normal AMD dual core 2.1 Ghz and 2 Gb RAM about several years old.

Anybody have any idea?

2754 according to this link but that is just for that particular time control. You can compare it to other engines and get a general idea to why it will lose a lot to the likes of Rybka.

The Fritz 8 box claims it had an Elo performance of 2809 at the time, but because of the way Elo ratings work you can't really compare them over time, so 2754 is probably more accurate today. It suffers greatly today because it's only single-threaded, meaning it can't take advantage of multiple cores - I use the Crafty engine in my copy of Fritz 8 because of this; even if the engine itself is slightly worse (not saying it is, I just don't know) the fact that Crafty can use all four cores that my computer has should more than make up for it.

I think it was fritz 8 that drew against Kramnik in 2002, so you could take it around 2800~ I guess. If you want free & stronger engines, google stockfish and chesslogik.
