This is the old tactics UI. The new UI can be configured to use the same default "Light Grey" by clicking on the board settings icon in the top left of the new board. Board size can be changed by dragging the resize handles on the bottom right corner of the board (or via the board settings on touch devices). Sounds and other settings can also be controlled via the board settings.
